on my mary way mondays week nineteen "I am constantly amazed by Tina Fey. And I am Tina Fey." — Tina Fey where in the world is she now
New Apartment, Who This. As I previously alluded to, I MOVED. I am now fully set up in my new space on the 8th floor of a beautiful building in San Jose. I am enjoying the change of scenery and loving getting to look out at the glimmering lights of the city through my bedroom window as I fall asleep at night. café bebé Last week I was able to spend time in my favorite place in the whole world. We off roaded into the mountains to a small coffee farming community called Providencia de Dota. I love this place for so many reasons, but the two big ones are 1.Pace of life and 2. Crazy beautiful insane nature! Providencia is the smallest small town I have ever visited and the pace of life there reflects that. The town is right in between to HUGE national parks. I have never been so awestruck by mother nature- I truly believe that if more people were able to see places like this, we would be taking a lot better care of the planet. Part of the adventure is working with an amazing organization called Green Communities and glamping in Tami Lodge. Green Communities is changing the game for coffee farmers and the environment that they are so closely connected to, while inspiring people to follow their passion and speak up for pacha mama! Tami Lodge is a major bonus and without giving away too many surprises, I will mention that you can look out over miles of untouched cloud forrest from the luxury of your heated waterfall shower with floor to ceiling one way glass- needless to say, best shower of my life. okay now ladies That's right, it is March and you know what that means? Women's History Month is here! Virtual high five to all my gal pals out there. As if Women's history month was not cool enough already, this year it is even radder because it is the 100 year anniversary of congress passing the 19th amendment- you know the one that gave men and women equal voting rights! So raise your glass ladies and lets cheers to 100 years! Also if you want to read a bit about cool women doing cool things, click here. mantra of the week I am proud of myself. In a world that is constantly reminding us of how we can improve, I have found it harder and harder to be proud and not ashamed/ annoyed/ discouraged because I am not someone or somewhere else. I am proud of my small successes. I am proud of my loving heart and open mind. I am proud of showing up here and putting some pen to paper. I am proud that I did my laundry today! So many things to be proud of when you think about it. Let's be proud together this week! That's all for now buds. Stay tuned for more in the mind of Mary. Peace be the Journey, on my mary way |
